The Curse of the Abyss
Darius had always been a fearless explorer, known for his daring expeditions into the world’s most uncharted territories. When he heard whispers of the Cave of the Abyss, a hidden grotto deep within the Amazon rainforest, he couldn’t resist the temptation. Legends spoke of an ancient entity lurking within, a being that granted wisdom at a terrible cost.
Ignoring the warnings of the local tribes, Darius ventured into the cave alone. The deeper he went, the more unsettling the air became—thick, humid, and pulsing with an eerie energy. Strange symbols covered the walls, depicting grotesque, hollow-eyed figures. Then, he saw it—a pool of black liquid, bubbling and shifting unnaturally. A voice echoed in his mind, whispering secrets of the universe, knowledge beyond human comprehension.
Curious and entranced, he reached out. The moment his fingers touched the liquid, agony surged through his body. He fell to the ground, writhing in pain as his skin began to change. Dark, hollowed-out craters formed across his body, as if something was eating away at him from within. The whispers turned to laughter.
Darius stumbled out of the cave, gasping for air, but he was no longer the same man. His body bore the mark of the Abyss, cursed for eternity. Now, he wanders the earth, searching for a cure—but deep down, he knows the truth: once you embrace the Abyss, it never lets you go.
